Usagi-san (2013) Synopsis :
Yoshi, an elderly Japanese immigrant living in Los Angeles, struggles to care for his sick wife Aiko. Story: Yoshi and his wife Aiko are Japanese-Americans living in Los Angeles. They used to love to walk in the woods together, but now Aiko suffers from Alzheimer's Disease and Yoshi is reduced to life as a full-time caretaker. His love for Aiko is not enough, though, to make him an effective caretaker, and he comes into conflict with his son over the best way to deal with the increasingly difficult Aiko. This piece is candid, moving and though-provoking. It is more than just'sad' it makes the viewer examine so many aspects of what love reallymeans in real life. It is simple and complex, stunning and frightening,beautiful and starkly realistic. The images tell the story as much asthe dialog, light, situation, framing and pace all contribute tobringing the viewer inside the world of the story Please watch thismovie - it will show you a great deal about your own heart, about thesociety we inhabit in the West and our attitudes to any one excluded byillness. language or tradition.
